--- ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN ---
The architectural concept of the New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) building is to exercise three-dimensional design using geometry. The focus is the expression of proportionality through repetition, equivalence, balance and harmony between building components. Geometric proportionality is an intersection between architecture and music: architecture is the geometry of place and music the geometry of time.

--- STRUCTURAL DESIGN ---
The architectural design proposes two seismically independent buildings separated by a walkway running along the north-south axis. The following is a proposal regarding the structural design of the EASTERN BUILDING. Both gravity and lateral load-bearing systems use structural forms that complement geometric expressions of the architecture.
